Catalina Moreno’s passion for the arts started as a young child in her native country, Colombia. She continued with her passion in the United States as a teenager, enrolling in art classes in Boston, Cambridge, and Brookline. Catalina’s art education includes working with different media such as acrylics, watercolors, resin, clay, and glass mosaic. Her work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in and around Boston. Catalina has worked in the Boston Public Schools as a math teacher for the past 26 years. She currently lives in Melrose with her two children and husband. She is an active member of the arts community.
My work brings me back to my childhood in Colombia as well as my hikes in New England. Growing up in the Andean Mountains, my art shows the relationship between nature and society. My influences, as diverse as flora and fauna, are generated from both traditional and modern art.
